United plane from SFO touch wings with other plane while on ground at O'Hare
CHICAGO (AP) - Two United Airlines planes touched wings Monday night after landing at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.
Passengers were aboard both planes at the time of the incident, but no one was injured, United spokesman Joe Hopkins said. He said the planes -- Flight 260 from Denver and Flight 154 from San Francisco -- touched wings around 8 p.m.
One of the planes was in a holding area and the other was taxiing to a gate when the incident occurred, Hopkins said.
The plane from Denver was a Boeing 777 that was carrying 266 people. There were 205 passengers aboard the other plane, a Boeing 747-400.
The Federal Aviation Administration will be notified of the incident, Hopkins said, adding that the extent of damage was not immediately known. He said officials from the Elk Grove Village-based airline would conduct an internal investigation.
A spokeswoman for Chicago's Aviation Department did not return repeated calls seeking comment.
