In the same way, a propeller blade be it turbine powered or piston powered produces lift as well. But not lift for the airplane, lift for the propeller in the forward direction. Same with a helicopter rotor. Same with the fan at the front of the turbofan. When you get into the inner workings of the jet engine though, the amount of forward velocity generated by the lift produced by individual blades is minimal when compared to the thrust generated and the power produced for the power turbine(s) i.e. the turbines that drive the fan.
