Boeing 777-200LR Any Future?

I recently read that EVA Air have cancelled their order for 777-200LR's in favour of a better deal offered by Airbus. The airline also claims its switch to the A340 derived from concern that it remained the sole customer for the 777-200LR.

Given these circumstances, what is the future for the 777-200LR and does it have any orders at all?

I think ua has some on order, if the 777 guy was on then he could answer all your 777 questons.

Nope ua does not have any LRs on order. Currently the only customer for this type is the EVA airline of Taiwan. However it is rumored that they might cancel the order, due to being the only customer for this type.

In accord with Avion Revue Magazine (from Spain) JAL, ANA, GECAS and ILFC are customers for the Boeing 777-200LR and 777-300ER plus Air France (777-300ER).

EVA officially denied the cancellation of the 777-200LR few weeks ago.

Like Cruising said, EVA Air denied the cancellation a few weeks ago. EVA Air is the only customer for the 777-200LR but I believe ILFC has options and can convert orders from the 777-300ER they have on order. Maybe Thai Airways Intl will order 777-200LR to replace 747-300 and MD-11 ? Thai is said to be looking to order 11 more planes for new thinner routes to Europe and possibly the US. The777Man

Also Qatar Airways are currently deciding between the B777 family (incl the LR) and the A340-500

I believe you could see Continental ordering a couple in the future. Most likely to open up more Asian markets from their Newark gateway and perhaps even Australia.

Delta would also be a likely customer mainly for the same reason, except out of Atlanta.
