And I still don't have a pic of it. Will it still say "spirit of delta'?

I hope they keep the "Spirit of Delta" on it, otherwise they may find many employees a bit poed since it reprisents the cuts in pay the employees took to help Delta purchase the plane... I remember going back to ATL to see it when it got delivered ... everyone was really excited about it.

I just recently flew on the MD-11 that had the olympic paint in 1996, it had phase 2 delta paint on it, and it had text on the fuselage stating what ship it was from 1996... I would like to see something like a stylized font that says THE SPIRIT OF and then the new delta paint which I simpley love (hated it at first) but now love it

I'm curious as to how you can remember a delivery that took place in October of 1982 if your profile indicates that you're only 16-20. At best, you were but a wee little tike when Ship 102 was delivered.

Maybe he means he saw it when it was repainted, not dilivered.

DeltaSFO- In, I believe 1990, my dad and I flew back for a company event. They put us up in the Marriot. They had the plane in the hanger, allowing everyone to view it and walk around it. Along with a mock up of the cockpit that we kids could go into and view. This was three years after the merger, and was something they were going to do every four years or so.. but they stopped it before my dad had his second time, so most everyone got to go twice and we didnt. Does that explain it to you? And I at the time thought it was delievered then, and not earlier.. so that would be my mistake... because they still seemed to make alot of "noise" basically about the plane.

Okay 2cn... that makes sense.

I just remembered what your age was and thought to myself "that's not right..."

The last thing they did like that was when they got the 777 (N863DA) with the new livery back in 2000. They parked her next to the DC-3 and the Travelair and had an open house for employees.

hmm.. I cant remember if I knew about that event or not, if I didnt wish I would've.. I probably would've dragged my dad onto a flight if I had to so we could've seen it while they had the open house for it.
