I am thinking of nonreving to DFW nextweek for the day and wanted to know if I can change terminals without having to go through security for each terminal.
Essentially, does each terminal have its own secruity? kinda hoping to get some spotting in, but might have to just hang out in "E" terminal if security is an issue.

I believe the TRAAIN between terminals is INSIDE the security screen, so I think you're safe.

DFW is a good airport to move about in. They have airport trains both before and after security. It is quite easy to navigate and everything can be accessed by walking if not by train (many terminals are close to one another)...

JMH, Terminal E is the only terminal in the airport which you MUST go out of security to change terminals. If you could fly into any of the other terminals (A, B or C) you could travel (or even walk) from one to another without going in and out of security by using the American Airlines "TrAAin". In addition to the gates you will be viewing in terminal E you will have a view of the higher gate numbers of terminal C (all of which are AA gates.) In any case, have a great time and welcome to DFW.

Respectfully,
AAgent

AAgent is correct if you want to leave the Delta terminal to go to AA's or Terminal B you have to go out of Security.

Thanks...

Yes, I think you'll have numerous aircraft and a number of different airlines to spot. The following is a listing of the airlines that are reported to use the various terminals at DFW. Airlines indicated in bold faced type occupy the most gates in their respective terminal.

Terminal A
American Airlines
American Eagle
Grupo Taca

Terminal B
America West
American Airlines
American Trans Air
British Airways
Continental
Frontier Airlines
Korean Air
Lufthansa
Mesa Airlines
Midwest Express
National Airlines
TWA
United Airlines
US Airways

Terminal C
American Airlines

Terminal D
***Under Construction***

Terminal E
AeroMexico
Air Canada
AirTran Airways
Atlantic Southeast
Big Sky Airlines
Comair
Delta Air Lines
Northwest Airlines
SkyWest
Vanguard Airlines

I hope this listing is of use to you during your plane spotting adventure. Again, I'd like to welcome you in advance to DFW. Have a great time!

AAgent,
Thanks for the welcome and airline list, I just hate I wont beable to leave the concoarse "E" I will be coming into, but Im really looking forward to the visit, its been about nine years since I have been to DFW, back then the airport had slightly more Delta traffic, the airline in which we flew, but its all good, if it flies its a thumbs up in my book,
Hey, are you working next Tuesday? Maybe you could show me around, ie. go to other concourses? =)
Im coming in on FL #103 from ATL, flight arrives around 1045 I believe.

JMH, I'll be out in west Texas (San Angelo) next Tuesday visiting family. Rotten timing I guess. In any case, you'll still have a great time at DFW. Enjoy!
