Daily in summer to Arizona/USA and six flights weekly to Venezuela
Lufthansa is expanding capacities in the summer flight schedules 2002: With more frequent flights ex Frankfurt to Phoenix/Arizona, Caracas/ Venezuela, Nagoya/Japan and Ho Chi Minh City/Vietnam. Come June 1, daily flights will be available to the metropolis in the US state of Arizona. For a time, Arizona was served only thrice-weekly following capacity adjustments after September 11 2001. Also from June, Lufthansa will be operating six flights weekly instead of the previous three a week to the Venezuelan capital. The flights to both Phoenix and Caracas will be with the Airbus A340. To accommodate growing demand, the two flights cut from services to Nagoya because of the September 11 outrages will be reinstated in the summer timetable: Pending government approval, an Airbus A340 will be operating five flights weekly to the Japanese business centre from June 1. Before that, on April 29, Lufthansa is increasing the number of its flights between Frankfurt and Ho Chi Minh City from two to three weekly connections flown by a Boeing B747-400.
Passengers booked on one of the daily flights to Phoenix take off in Frankfurt at 10:25 hours and land in the USA at 13:05 hours local time. The return flight at 14.55 hours arrives in Frankfurt at 10:35 hours the next day. The Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Caracas takes off daily except for Tuesdays at 13:10 hours, arrival there is scheduled at 17:30 hours local time. The return flight from Caracas departs at 19:10 hours and lands in Frankfurt a day later at 10:55 hours. Flights to Nagoya on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays take off daily at 8:15 hours, arriving in Nagoya the next day after a good 11-hour flight. Return flights are on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays at 10:00 hours, arriving in Frankfurt on the same day at 15:10 hours.

In April, Lufthansa is also operating flights to Ho Chi Minh City on Mondays. Take-off in Frankfurt is at 22.30 hours on Mondays. The flight arrives in Ho Chi Minh City at 16.20 hours the following day. The return flight on Tuesdays is at 16:20 hours. The return flight from Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesdays takes off at 21:35 hours, arrival in Frankfurt on Wednesday mornings at 6:35 hours.
