OK, just curious to see if I'm the only one that does this....

While thinking about your own fantasy airline, do any of you try to figure out the passenger configuration of particular aircraft? Different seat pitches, different ratios of classes, special configurations, etc.

I do this on occasion just to play around, but I wanted to see if any of you out there do the same thing. I just want to know that I'm not a freak!!  Laugh out loud

Is there any software similar to Railway Tycoon that allows you to build a virtual airline?

Ok I'm guilty of that too! You're not the only freak with a lot of time on your hands.

There is the game called Airport Tycoon. It's more about designing airports than airlines though. I don't know how good that is, but I have all 3 versions of Roller Coaster Tycoon and they're cool. I do put together seating plans too. That's fun!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I am very relieved to hear that I'm not the only one!  Big thumbs up

Now that the admissions are out in the open, what are your ideas? Here are just a couple of mine..

744QLR - Upper deck: Conference table and lounge area as found on the Boeing owned BBJ. High profile international business city pairings. (HKG/NYC)

744 & 777 - eight across seating in economy with at least 34 in. pitch.

752 - Conference table in front section as well for high profile business city pairings. I.E. Chicago/N.Y.C.

Narrow bodies - Five across seating in economy.

Domestic first class seats would be older type sleeper seats. (50-60 in pitch)

Just a few of my ideas....

I use MS-Excel to simulate my airline business plans. Throw in a few macros (written in BASIC), and u get all the results you want!

So MS-Excel is the best *Business Simulator* IMHO.
