The summer schedule has just been released on the website, and there are few observations that can be made. A new addition to the list of destinations is DXB, which will have four weekly. Three destinations that still have an undetermined schedule are: HAJ, LED, LJU, and CFU. SSJ is cancelled.
Flights per week:
Today the Serbian minister for transport and communication visited Ottawa, where she attended the signing of an agreement between PTT Srbije and Canada Post. During her visit, she confirmed that JAT is planning on establishing a direct charter service to Toronto (YYZ), starting this June. The BEG-YYZ-BEG service should be operated using the DC10, with two flights per week leading into September. She stated that the airline would then assess the operational feasibility of continuing this service in the off-season; however, with a reduced service of only once weekly.
BTW: As of April 15th, JAT will enforce a smoking ban on all flights. Up to now, a smoking ban only existed on domestic services.

Many of the 727s and DC9s are on lease abroad. All of the 727s and DC9s are hushkitted, and now all aircraft in the operational fleet had their interiors refurbished. There are only a handfull of 727s and DC9s that fly on scheduled JAT flights, and should be replaced by 2004. The newer 737s are predominant in the fleet.
JATs regional fleet of ATR72s are stretched to the limit, so any additional destinations will be operated by 737s. Its probable that demand between LJU and BEG is not strong enough to become a regular route, so charters are the solution for now.
On the other hand, the Croatian government continues to stall the normalisation of economic ties with Serbia and Montenegro. Routes such as BEG-ZAG and perhaps BEG-DBV have potential.

If you go to JATs schedule and put in Belgrade to Trieste you get the time table and equipment is an ATR72, the service is 4 times a week I think. Now this is the kicker, if you select Trieste to Ljubljana you are told that JAT operates this service but with a BUS!!!!! So what happens is passenger go from BEG to Trieste and then they are put on a bus and driven to Ljubljana!
Also, if you select BEG to Timosoara (in Romania) it is another bus service! Quite unique to say the least...

Here are a few more routes:
Its interesting how the B727 is scheduled for routes to only LCA, DXB, and BEY. Meanwhile there is an odd number of flights with the DC9 to destinations in Germany, Italy, Greece, Belgium and Switzerland. ZRH should be expecting one weekly flight with the DC9.
Unfortunately there are no scheduled domestic flights with the B727.
