Do any of you think Midwest Express will be replacing their DC-9s soon. If so what will they replace it with? 717s? I would hope so. It would be great to see them get new planes and have In-Flight TV like JetBlue, Legend, and Alaska.

The 717 would be perfect for MidEx.
I read an article on them not too long ago where they stated that they would like to get some 717's. But the price was just a wee bit too high. If they can get them for about 2-3 million less apiece, they will most likely be ordering some.

I’ve read that they are indeed looking to upgrade their fleet, and that Airbus Industrie has already had a visit with them.

Boeing knows MidEx knows the 717 is a PERFECT replacement for the 717 so it jacked up its rates. Now Airbus will get involved, Boeing will lower its prices, and MidEx will get what it originally wanted.

Gotta love this crazy world.

The 717 is reasonably priced, in my opinion, and they'll get no more than a $1 million discount at most. I think they'll go with the 717 over the A318 because it has lower operating costs.

After thinking about it the 717 would be perfect for them cuz then they would only loose one seat per row instead of 2 like they would have to do with the A319.
