Pearson YYZ Question

Okay, here I go again with yet another YYZ question, but this I have to know. Every time I fly in or out of YYZ, of course I observe the BEAUTIFUL new T1-New
being constructed (one of the "gate arms" is already near completion). BUT....can someone tell me if there are plans to construct another Terminal where T2 is, when T2 is demolished. It just seems to me that this new T-1, while large, is not THAT big to incoporate BOTH T1 and T2 (AC) loads. And with projected growth for YYZ in the next 20 years, I find it hard to believe that T1-New and T-3 will be large enough to sustain this growth in passenger traffic.

Anyone know?

Hmm, don't know what happened there.

Anyway, with the loss of Canadian, C3 and Royal, T-3 is relatively empty now. I imagine that if T-new becomes too congested, T-3 will be able to provide the extra capacity. Remember, it's only a little over 10 years old, which is pretty new by airline industry standards.

Eventually there will be 3 piers that will cover the area where T1 and T2 currently stand. T1 and T2 will be torn down. In addition the main pier of T3 only has gates on one side...there is currently work being done to create additional gate space on the other side.

I understand the final tier of the project is to either connect the completed T-NEW with an extension to T3 OR tear down T3 and extend T-NEW in its place. I've heard or read both versions. Not sure which is the latest plan.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

T-New will also expand towards the current T2 as someone else posted above there will be a third pier, and some rj/prop gates at the far eastern end of the airport, about where Mod Q and the east beach are now...

While I know very little about YYZ construction, all I can add is good ridance to T1 and T2. While I normally fly out of T2, it is those terminals that keep YYZ from being a world-class airport. I hope T-New turns out to be something like YVR, for I love the new airport. Anyways I'm probably just stating the obvious, and look forward to an AT domestic departure out of T3 for I've only arrived in that terminal one.

Will there be any gate which has two air-bridges to the a/c? Using two doors allows quicker turn-around.
