I am planning to visit the Wacken open-air in august and will probably fly to Itzehoe (ETHI) airport. Does anyone know anything about this airport? It's an army field with PPR for civil aircraft according to Bottlang.

Regards,
Jernej

I seriously think I just creamed my pants without any influence from any outside variables.

Funny thing. Itzehoe has no real airport nearby and the 2 a little further away are very small. Would have to search via the 4-letter code. Anyway, I´m almost sure you won´t find scheduled flights to that airport.
You better fly to HAM, take the train to Izehoe and then use the shuttle service to Wacken.
I don´t know if I´m gonna go there this year...

The Metro might be the Sub(optimal)way

Are you sure about the four-letter-code ETHI? I don't know much about those four-letters, but I think all German airports/fields are ED**?

Actually I would fly there myself, here are two charts for this airport:

This has to be one of the smallest airports with paved runway and approach/runway lights (OK, Helgoland/Duene beats it  Smile

Indeed, it's ETHI! Seems like my knowledge of those 4-letter-codes is really little... Well, I never need them.

ps: "Hungriger Wolf", what a name for an airport  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
