I was wondering which airline was bigger at Dallas/Fort Worth prior to Braniff's bankruptcy in 1982? Does anyone know all the non-stop destinations each carrier served from this airport at the time?

I'll do Braniff's nonstops from DFW, from their April 25, 1982 schedule, along with the number of daily flights):

Amarillo (4x), Austin (8x), Chicago-O'Hare (7x), Corpus Christi (3x), Denver (8x), Harlingen/Brownsville (3x), Honolulu (1x), Houston-IAH (16x), Kansas City (10x), Las Vegas (4x), London UK (1x), Los Angeles (5x), Lubbock (5x), Memphis (3x), Mexico City (2x), Miami (5x), Midland-Odessa (3x), Minneapolis-St Paul (3x), Nashville (1x), New Orleans (6x), NYC-LaGuardia (5x), Newark (3x), Oklahoma City (9x), Omaha (2x), Orlando (1x), Philadelphia (3x), Reno (1x), San Antonio (11x), San Francisco (3x), Sea-Tac (3x), Tampa-St Pete (2x), Tulsa (7x), Washington Dulles (2x), Wichita (4x)

34 cities, 154 flights. I don't have an AA schedule from that era, but, hopefully this'll help, and someone else will be able to help you with AA's info.

Back in heavily regulated June 1975

Braniff fielded +/- 147 daily flights all via 727 and a lone 747

vs.

American operated +/- 125 flights via all fleet types

In certain markets, BN and AA nearly matched flight for flight...like NYC, MEM, BNA, ORD, MEX, OKC

I don't have an AA schedule from the era either, but I am pretty sure Braniff was the more dominant carrier.

American always had somewhat of a presence and posed as a threat at DAL and DFW when Braniff was around, but they were not the major airline there.
Braniff occupied all of present day Terminal B(minus the add-on that AA built) whereas AA occupied a portion of either present day terminal A or C.

So, Braniff had many more gates than AA did so I think Braniff was the #1 carrier.

Keep in mind, AA didn't start it's major expansion untill the mid 80s, shortly after BN had gone out of business. If Braniff was around, there is no way AA would have the fortress hub it has at DFW.

As an aside Delta had 70 daily flights to 23 North American airports in December 1980.
