I can think of two possible reasons:
1. It's the newest member to the NW fleet..... and we know that are a lot of NW fans in the forum.
2. It's a damn sharp photo! Nice and clear.

Sorry,
This happened with the AA 777 pic on the 1st page of the best photos of all time. It went shooting up like a rocket then just stopped. I questioned that pic and my topic was deleted. It went up way to quick to be normal hits. Something very fishy if you ask me.
The same goes for the above pic. It was only in the past month or so this pic got so many hits. Very, Very strange.

It's up to 104063 views.. I agree, its fishy.. BUT, I will also say that this pic is THE BEST one of a NW CRJ I have EVER seen.. So that may be part of it..

I would refrain from doing comments like this, altough I am not a photographer, and this for a variety of reasons:
1. View count is exceptionally high. Just compare it to popular photos of last time. For example, photos of the aircraft crashed into WTC doesn't get as nearly these high counts
2. Fraud and abuse. If somebody has tricked the view count system of a.net which takes care to distinct one view from another, then it is absolutely inacceptable thing. Imagine a small script running somewhere on the net screwing up the views count by tricking the a.net counter, so the counter thinks, every time the script calls for the photo, this is a new view. Well, you know how much traffic and bandwidth costs? I used to work as sysadmin for an ISP and I know. And, might it be not so crucial for ONE small fraud script(if there is some), 1000 are a pain in the butt and net abuse at its worst.

The only reason i can think of why it's got so many views, is because it's a new aircraft type in NW's fleet. Other than that, i don't see anything special about this photo, there are far far better pics on the database than that.

It was taken in Montreal at Dorval Airport where Bombardier's CRJ line is built.. it probably was one of the first pics of Northwest's CRJ since it had a Canadian registration on it. People probably just flocked to see the first pic of it.

Most likely reason is that is linked from another website. I know that there alot of VERY popular pictures that aren't exciting at all, and they are linked to a German travel website, which we found out not long ago.
