Heard from a co-worker that NW has already or will close the pilot base in SEA. Is this a sign of things to come here in SEA???? What about the FA base here??? Does NW have something planned for SEA???

Don't freak out... it's just cost savings thats all. I haven't heard about the closing (they've messed with the DC10 base in HNL, FA base in HNL, FA base in ORD - can't keep them all straight). The SEA FA base is THE most senior, that won't close. They're still committed to the SEA market... look at the new maint and cargo operations there. It obviously wasn't economically viable for them to continue to operate the base, so it was closed.

You said some of the things that I was thinking as well. All the more reason that I thought it was rather odd. Thanks for the comments. Anyone know if SEA will see the new 753's or 330's????

HAHA!! Jurrasic Park... that's funny. It's true too!
There are jokes about the FA bases at NW, this is from the airlinecrew.net website and the NW redtailed flyers page.

"How can you tell which base a NWA FA is from by the way they pass through a hula hoop?"

MEM Can't get it over their big hair.
MSP Asks Management how they want FA to go through it.
SEA Can't get hoop over hips.
DTW says, "Stick that hoop where the sun don't shine!"
LAX - they can't get the hula hoop over the implants!

As far as SEA seeing the 753 - it is very likey as it is the replacement a/c for the DC10-40 fleet and SEA saw many DC10-40s from MSP and DTW. So, I would be on the lookout for those birds at some point. And the 330 is the DC10-30 ATLANTIC replacement. Considering SEA sees nonstop service to AMS, the 330 will grace SEA with its presence as well. The DC10-30 will still be used to HNL, which apparantly goes to 1 daily in the fall.

Hope this helps
