The Toronto City Centre Airport is facing a possible closure by Transport Canada and the City Of Toronto. Your support is needed to Help stop this part of Canada's Aviation History from being shut down....As it stands the Airport need to be re-vitalized rather then shut down, there is great potential for this little airport, and without your help it may never be reached...
What I am asking is that you visit http://www.torontoaviation.com and download the petition to save the TCCA...pass it around, get it filled out and mail it down to the TCCA office...all information is provided on the Toronto Aviation website...just click on "Save the Toronto City Centre Airport" Link under Lates News....Every signature helps so don't worry about how many you can get...
The airport has a great history, it was a WW2 training camp for Norways Airforce, it was once Toronto MAIN airport, a place where many of Canada's pilots first learned to fly, and with your help it can have a great future too....

The Toronto Island Airport here in Toronto is, in my opinion, one of the many attractions this city has to offer. This airport enters Toronto into the exclusive club of cities around the world which have island airports. It may not be an international hub by any means, but, the TIA is idealy situated to provide a viable alternative to Pearson International Airport - PIA (YYZ)... offering immediate access to the downtown core. Locals and visitors can also take an arial sightseeing tour of this great city, Toronto, and, potential pilots can embark on a "fam-flight" for a nominal charge.
Please, let's do what we can to keep this airport alive.

Right on! This airport is in my hood.....and believe me, I'm totally surrounded by air-head tree-huggers who complain about airport noise/pollution (on their way to the beer store in their SUV's).
I try to go to some of the Toronto city council meetings and hood meetings.....I'm often the only one in favour of airport expansion....I often get shouted down....I get dirty looks in my own condo building! and yall know I'm not afraid to speak out!
I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.
