Hey guys,

A new airline will come to Brussels: Syrian Arab Airlines.

They will start twice a week an A320 flight to Damascus via Wenen and Aleppo.

Here are the schedules (flights start from the 14th of June):

Damascus - Aleppo - Wenen - Bru every thursday and saturday
18u00 00u45

Bru - Wenen - Aleppo - Damascus every friday and sunday
01u45 10u25

The schedules are very bad for spotters  Sad

Let's hope for a big delay from time to time  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Regards,
Sabena 690

Hey Lumumba,

It doesn't matter from where this information comes, but you can already book flights in the international reservation systems, so I guess you know enough with this to believe me  Laugh out loud

Frederic

Hey Lumumba,

It is indeed a strange timetable, but maybe you can compare it with the Moskou flight of SU? (departs also around midnight).

I do not think that lot's of people are going to take this flight.
You have to go to Wenen, than to Aleppo and than to Damascus. We will see...

Sabena 690

Hey Lumumba,

Yes, you are right with what you say about the market to Moskou. That is why there is a direct flight between Brussels and Moskou. Because probably less people are going to book a ticket to Damascus, the flight goes first via Wenen, than via Aleppo and than to Damascus.

I thought my geography was not too bad, but then again I may have to reconsider. Where on earth is "Aleppo"? I never heard of this place. I guess it must be somewhere around the Mediterranean?

The true spotter doesn't notice the difference between day and night!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy  Yawn  Sleepy

LOL
Sabena 690 you get my credit for having invented a new way of expression : the Flenglish!!
(no offense young fella)
Moskou = Moscow
Wenen = Vienna

Besides SU's schedule to most Western European destinations really are inconvenient. Who wants to leave around midnight to arrive at about 4.30 next morning with as little as 3hrs to get a nap...

Sabena 690,

Very strange this information because I don't see anything on their web site (http://syriaonline.com/syrair/)

Please give us your sources.

Thanks, Laurent.

Hey Laurent,

This information (schedules, aircraft type,...) was sent me by someone who follows all the Brussels movements very close, who has inside information, and who can check the international reservations systems.

I am sure that that person knows what he is saying!!

We will see untill the 14th of June Big grin

Regards,
Frederic

@Laurent:

If you want to get information at the moment, you can only call the Syrian Arab Airlines office, or you must have acces to international reservation systems like Galileo, Amadeus, ...

Frederic

Thanks Frédéric,
We will see but as you said, it will be very difficult to take picture.
I've seen Syrian 2 weeks ago in Amsterdam.

It's very good for the BRU airport to welcome new airliners.
Laurent.

Yes, I think that we can't complain here in Brussels  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

There are much more different airliners here than before the bankruptcy of Sabena.

I am still hoping (let's say dreaming) of a Qantas flight each day, or Cathay Pacific,... (all with B747-400's of course Big grin).

Frederic

Everybody can check timetables in Amadeus, here's the link, I also saw the timetable of the BRU-VIE-ALP-DAM flight today by chance, because I was looking for the timetable of Syrianair's Vienna-Berlin SXF flights and found out it will start flights to Brussels:
