My Grandma flew RDU-PHX-ONT and she is flying back. I noticed on her ticket on the way back that it says: NON REFUNDABLE/ STANDBY REQ UPGRADE TO FULL Y FARE.

What exactly does this mean and what do I have to do?
BTW she is flying on Southwest Airlines

That says that if she decides to try standby on an earlier flight, she will have to pay to upgrade her ticket to a full fare refundable one. Don't worry about it.
