Khalifa airways has finaly got the agreement to schedule their flight to Paris CDG Terminal 9 from Algiers and Bejaia. They have been battling to open this line against it's old competitor Air algerie which became it's partner airline and was the only algerian airline operating to paris . A340's and A330's will be used for this route ...note that Air algerie has moved out from CDG to Orly-sud last month.

I guess Air Algerie won't lease the Air Atlanta 747 this summer...they can give back their leased 767 either since now there are 3 airlines on the ALG-paris route!
-2 daily md-83 with Air Lib
-1 daily A343 with K9
-and the rest of the hated AH flights
I hope this new competition won't harm Air Lib too much though....the young airline counted on ALG a lot

For sure Khalifa Airways will lure away a great part of the traffic from Air Algérie, but don't forget that people actually didn't get a ticket on AH so far because there weren't enough seats offered. A Reuters press release once reported people had to sleep in front of the AH agencies to get a ticket! And many actually went back to Algeria by boat in Spain or Italy.

you may considere now that there is no more competition between Khalifa and air algerie since their agreements on sharing almost everything. If you buy a ticket to air algerie it's the same availability then the khalifa's one, it means if u buy a ticket to air algerie u still can fly with it to khalifa airways.
In deed Air algerie is not leasing airplanes from Air atlanta anymore, they are expecting to use some of the Khalifa's A330 (cheaper) for this summer and they are also expecting one of the khalifa's A340 (7T-VKN) under air algerie's color scheme..still waiting for it though! the first B737.6 has to come next month for AH.
