I read somewhere that one of them is to go to the QANTAS museum I was wondering which one will it be and what will happen to the others?

I read this on Just Planes!
My vote goes to VH-EBQ.
The others will probably be stored and if there is no buyer I guess they will be scrapped.  Sad

I believe that one has been purchased by John Travolta after the two SPs were scrapped. He was in Sydney a few weeks ago and visited the QANTAS Jet Base with rumours saying that he was interested in one of the 238Bs.

Hello,

Anyone knows why Qantas disposed of two 747-200Bs in the early 1980s (to PEOPLExpress) please?

Thanks,

Best regards,

It was posted on aus.aviation that today (02 May)
QFA6019 a B747-200 was tracked from HNL to MZJ, otherwise known as Pinal Airpark, Marana, Arizona.

Unfortunately, I don't know which one it was; but it certainly won't be going to the QF museum at Longreach, nor is it likely to be joining Mr Travolta's fleet - once an a/c lands at Pinal Park it rarely takes off again.

It has joined sister 747s there; SP VH-EAB, reportedly engineless, undercarriageless and interiorless; and SP VH-EAA, engineless and radomeless, but otherwise intact for the moment.

I believe it will be ECB or ECC. If ECB has gone, my tips on ECC.
