Guys! I hear AC is going to have...get this...some...A319s in Ottawa!!! OH MAN, I wish I could go...
Seriously, though, I'd love to join you sometime. We should call it the GOAWA (Greater Ottawa Airplane Watchers Association - or "Go Away").

Yow, (and everyone else)...
I would have liked to be there, but I can't make it, sorry. I've got loads of work 'cause you know, it's the end of the year... It would be more convenient on Fridays maybe, or weekends. Sorry, see you guys another time maybe.
Oh, and I don't have my driver's license so it's kind hard to drive to the airport from Gatineau for 16:30 (the old Gatineau, not the former Hull) when the car is home at 18:00.

How was the meet today? I was going to go after the game but we had an injury take up a good 30 mins and we finished really late. We smoked Ashbury 20-0 and yours truly rumbled over for a try. Oh yeah, I go to Hillcrest. 2 year defending senior boys rugby champs..
Anyways, keep me in touch for the next meet, I'll be looking forward to all those wonderful A320s.

Well Samuarai777 from YEG and I met today and had a good time spotting and discussing aviation. We went up on the roof of the ATB and got a good view of the construction, which is coming along superbly. Hey and we even got to see more than AC 320s ...even got to see their newest 321 FIN 456. All and all not bad spotting, including CP North in old, old colours, a 732 still in transitional heading to YWG, a First Air 72F and a bunch of 762/763s, 146 in Air BC markings, although no Jazz music.

Yep, we had a pretty good time, that's for sure. The weather cooperated, which is a hell of a lot more than I could say for the first few days I was in Ottawa. I came in from YYC (after a Dash 8 flight from YEG) on an AC A319. In YYC, I've seen at least one 321. Sorry, I don't have the regs - I don't have my daytimer with me, which is where I wrote them down!
In addition to what Yow said, I did, however, see the next day before my flight to YVR, a 146 in red Jazz markings, probably C-GRNZ. It was also probably bound for YHZ.
BTW, the 762 I went on for Flight 139 YOW-YVR had the fin # 609, so it had the registration as C-GAUY - not the Gimli Glider (C-GAUN), but a 762, nonetheless. It was a pretty good flight - the flight arrived in YVR about 24 minutes early and even the food was far better (basically a chicken that tasted like it had honey on it and a surprisingly crispy salad) than the YYC-YOW flight, where part of the breakfast was so disgusting that I don't think even a dog would eat it!! Fortunately, I had no problems in dealing with AC staff both on and off the flights. In fact, they were even better than what I encountered last year before 9/11! I'm currently in Vancouver, so I'll be back in YEG on Tuesday May 28th.

For all you YOW spotters out there MyTravel (formerly Air Tours) of the UK has begun weekly A330 LGW-YOW-YYZ-YOW-LGW flights on Mondays as of today. I managed to get a pic just as she was rotating off of RWY 7 at around 2040...was running about 1hr late. I'll hopefully add this along with a bunch of other pics to the web at http://www.geocities.com/ottawa_yow in the not too distant future.
