Can someone shed some light on Aloha Airlines using DC-10's in their fleet? I checked the database but couldn't find any pictures?

How many did they have and of which model? What route(s) were they flown on?

Thanks.

To my knowledge, Aloha never flew the DC10. They are a 737 operator and now fly the 732 within Hawaii and the 737NG to the mainland.

Hawaiian flw the L1011, and now flies the DC10, but is now in the process of replacing the DC10s with 763s.

According to Terry Waddington's, "McDonnell Douglas DC-10," Aloha had a subsidiary in the mid-eighties called Aloha Pacific. At least one dash-30 (N801AL) was operated in full Aloha colors:

I think they used the tens for Guam - Honolulu.

They were ex-KLM -30s I believe, and offered a First Class with sleeper seats, etc. It looked like a class act but apparently the whole South Pacific route thing was a bust for Aloha and it didn't last long.

N801AL DC10-30 ex PH-DTI was leased from
01MAY84-28DEC84. Aircraft operated HNL/GUM
and I believe was supposed to operate to TPE as
well, but that was short lived. I have a very nice
model in 1/200 scale of this aircraft. Had standard
ALOHA colors and logo and ALOHA PACIFIC titles
on the fuselage....

Aloha DC10 used to operate HNL-GUM-TPE-MNL. It only lasts for 6 months.

Aloha was also planning to fly Tokyo, but this never happened.

SIDE NOTE: The 732 in that particular photo ^ was the famous convertible.

Yes, indeed, sleeper seats. I have a small folder which features the Aloha Pacific service. Depicted are happy couples enjoying gourmet food and stretching out in the sleeper seats, upholstered in a maroon fabric. The sleepers were the pre-electronic kind where you had to reach down and unfold the footrest manually. For all I know they were the KLM seats, recovered, and I believe there were only a couple of rows in First. Hmm ... I 'll have to dig that folder out.
