Two In One Day?

What with the EgyptAir crash near Tunis and now the China Northern crash, is today the first day during which there have been two unrelated major crashes? I'm not counting September 11th.

This is the second time I believe. On October 31, 2000, SQ006 crashed in Taipei, and the same day, there was a plane that crashed in Angola. (I can't remember the details of that one.)

There was at least one other time. In 1959, almost 43 years to the day, Capitol Airlines lost two aircraft in the same day. One was a Connie, the other was a Viscount. Two people were killed in the first crash and thirty in the second.
