This is a very nice picture! It looks like a 767-300 but does anyone know the airline? I was thinking JAS but do they fly that far west??

I was also thinking JAS, but they don't have 767s.
Maybe JAS 777-200??

Looks more like, as you said, a 767 though.

Must not be JAS though ...... the wrap-around markings on JAS' planes are different than the unidentified plane.

Well, it does tend to look somewhat different due to height, distance, and angle, I suppose.

Thing is, where do you suppose Varig flies to out that way? Would be nice if the photographer provided a little more details about the sighting, such as: What airline he was on; Where he was flying to/from; What direction he was heading; What direction the other (Varig) plane may have been heading... Stuff like that to help with our little investigation  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

It says: "Opposite traffic over the atlantic ocean, west of morocco"

Could make it fly to Lisbon, Milan or Munich... any other Varig 767 destinations in Europe?

It is diffenately a Vaarig Aircraft. Look at the fin on the aircraft it is dark. JAS has white on their tails.
Also, the colour is not pink, blue...but Yellw (Gold) and blue.

Cheers
Mike

...but Setjet nailed it. (Also I think it's clear the original picture in question shows a -300)

The new large size picture option is awesome!
