start her own airline, if Go is taken over by easyJet?
Or will she have to agree not to as part of the deal?

If she has her way then Go will not be sold to Easyjet. It appears from the papers that she is trying to get 3i to not sell. How about Go buying Easyjet? Much smarter idea.

Go should buy DBA.....

Both would have been owned by BA at one atage so makes sense...

I think the Go bosses won't be able to start another airline as part of the deal. Which might make the deal even less attractive to them. Would they be wealthier if the deal fell through and there was an IPO?

They'd probably want her to sign a non-compete agreement like the one David Neelman had to sign when he sold Morris Air to Southwest.

While Babara Cassanis has been responsible for Go's success she was supported by a lot of BA resources and a lot of BA money so I wouldn't put her in the same category as Kelleher, Neelman, or Stelios.

Just my opinion of course...

Does she really need BA resources now? I don't think so.
Might she get head hunted by Blue Fox airways?

Or she could only agree to the merger if she gets the rights to the GO name/brand and then start up another sirline called GO?

I doubt Easy would let her but it would be worth a try.

The Go Fly brand is not to be used by easyJet. Not sure who will own it after the deal goes through. It does have a value. Could it possibly used outside Europe? Does Barbara have any rights to the Go Fly brand?
