Northwest, I believe has 8 Boeing 747-200 freighters. I'm not sure if they are pure freighters or converted.

United used to have some DC-10 freighters.

Back in the 60s & 70s, lots of carriers had dedicated freighters, like American & Pan Am.

So who still has deicated freighter aircraft?

Listen Betty, don't start up with your 'White Zone' s*** again.

Of the US carriers, NWA is probably the only one which has a dedicated cargo fleet. Internationally, many do (although some of these are operated by wholly owned subsidiaries):

Air France - 747F
Lufthansa Cargo -747F, MD11
Asiana - 763F, 744F
JAL - 747F
Singapore Airlines - 744F
Malaysia - 742F
Dragonair - 743F (very unusual)
Martinair - M11F
Korean Air - 744F, 742F, M11F, A300F
CAL - 742/744F

There are many more, such as KLM; these are just examples.

NW has a big cargo fleet because its main base for cargo flights is at ANC (Anchorage, AK). It's a huge cash cow for the airline, too.

China Airlines has B747 freighters, EVA Air has freighter airplanes as well (I'm not sure about the type though, believe MD11).

Cathay Pacific has dedicated freighters, and so does Singapore Airlines.

Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!

Add All Nippon and El Al to the list.

Quit calling an airport ramp "Tarmac" and a taxiway "runway".
