For senior (flying on longhaul flights) flight attendants and pilots, do they get to choose the routes they fly, or are they assigned? Also, do they fly the same one for a period of time, or are they always different ones? For flight attendants, will they always fly on the same a/c type, or will they fly different ones and how many different ones?

At most airlines, there is a bid schedule of all the routes that are within your base. You bid for the routes and days that you want and then bid some others in case you don't get your first choices. The computer then goes through all the bids and assigns the bids by seniority.
