According to the caption, something is wrong with this 747. I can't see anything wrong. What is wrong with this plane?

Hey Flyingbronco05,

Check out the flaps. They are not set for takeoff.
Could have been a real bad incident.

I'm far from an expert here, but considering it is about to take off, I think the flaps should be extended. If it's something else, then I'm clueless.

You beat me to it AC_B777! Your post wasn't there when I posted mine, but you must have submitted yours before mine. I'm glad to know what I thought was correct though.

Sorry guys, I didn't look at the picture carefully enough. At first I thought the plane was taxiing, but once I clicked on the picture on my post, I discovered that the plane was actually on the runway. My bad. Sorry for not seeing the obvious. And you are right AC_B777, the flaps aren't down. My question: How could they forget the flaps? Glad to hear that all turned out "ok" though.

Yeah that's a real good question. Someone in the cockpit sure was asleep. How in the world can they miss lowering the flaps as it is an integral part of the before-takeoff checklist? I have a feeling that they were ready for the takeoff roll when the plane signalled that the flaps weren't down thus enabling the pilots to correct the problem. I'm sure glad everything turned out OK because that would have been a big accident. Especially since most PAL flights out of HongKong to Manila are full.

I sure hope they don't make this mistake the next time I fly them.

Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!
