I work for Midwest Express and have no idea what aircraft got repainted first, second, etc. I can tell you that we might have a new paint style when we get our B717-200 but that is what I heard. I hope not because I like our color scheme as is right now and would cost too much to repaint the whole fleet. Also, they are looking in changing our name too from Midwest Express Airlines too just Midwest Airlines(yuck). I hope they don't but you never now. Also N813ME should be done buy next year and hasn't been painted. The plane is all white so far when we got it from SAS.

I know. My dad works @ ME too! I also heard about the paint scheme change and the name change. I think that they should paint one 717 in the old colors, one in the current colors, and the rest in the colors that they are planning to change to.

I tend to think a name change of dropping "Express" may be confusing to people - Northwest, Midwest, Midway - some similar names there. But Northwest dropped the "Orient" from its name in the late 80s successfully. But probably also in the public's eye, "Express" associates with commuter. So if YX wants to be viewed nationally as more of a national carrier, maybe it should become just Y!

I can only hope for a new paint job!!!!!!!!!! The Skyway jets look nice I think that style would look good on the 80's and 717's. Please get rid of that stupid gold stripe, it just does not work. They should leave it as Midwest Express though, its now an established name.

Well I hope they don't change the paint scheme on the airplanes it looks nice. They haven't even painted the whole fleet yet and they want a new paint job. I hope they do leave it as Midwest Express too. Nothing wrong with a name just another way for management to spend money and not give it back too the employes.

Does anyone know how many planes yet are still in the Old colors. I do see a few around MKE but there usually the DC9-10's. Does anyone know how many for MD-80's that they are getting if they are at least. Also I think with the paint scheme deal I kinda like the new one, but I would like to see how a new one would look too. All I can think of is another Delta with 3 paint schemes all together.
p.s. Kinda out of the question but is Skyway going to get rid of those ugly Beechcraft planes, i seriously don't really care for them and I don't like that old paint scheme.

I believe there are only two airplanes that are still in the old colors. I think aircraft 500ME and one of the DC9-30's aircraft but could be very wrong. I will look out for them when I work my next seven days at the Midwest Express hanger.
At this moment we only have one MD-80 to go through modification and that is aircraft N813ME. We are not supposed to buy anymore MD-80 from anybody that could always change. Midwest Express for now are only buying new aircraft (B717-200's). Hopefully they will build the B717-300's and use them on longer routes from MKE and MCI but that will years down the road.
Eventually the B-1900D's will be gone from Skyway but don't now when. Proabably when we get the new Embrarer aircraft they will phase out these aircraft.

I know for a fact that N500ME, and N800ME are in the old colors. N500ME has the red stripes removed from the tail.
MidEx717: Do you know what aircraft have the new interiors with the blue bulkheads, besides, N209ME, N212ME, N215ME, N216ME, N302ME, N502ME, N300ME, N800ME, N900ME, and the MD-80's? I know for sure that these have the blue bulkheads.

The aircraft, to become ship 814 I believe, is in for D check and retrofit. The 82s acquired are refitted with a -90 style interior. There is an IPIX view of the interior at http://www.midwestexpress.com
I am not entirely sure about the reg. number though, someone more affiliated with MX operations could clarify.
I am still enamored by the large 717 poster hung up beneath 'D-ops' (D Concourse Operations) near the training rooms.

Don't now what aircraft have the new interiors, but that is a good question but wish I had the answer. I saw N800ME today at the hanger and it's in the old colors. I thought there was a DC9-30 in the old colors too.

N813ME is in the Midwest Express hanger and the plane is white from previous owner SAS. There is no timeframe when N813ME is supposed to be completed. But I heard from one mechanic today that is might be done sometime in October. I would like too see that done but it is highly unlikely. Don't have enough people to work on the airplane unless the bring back some contractors.

I remember a few years back while I was at work with Skyway, the offices had posters of 717's in ME colors hanging on the walls. I'm not sure what took them so long to order, but I heard it was the price. I heard the first 80 from SAS was badly corroded, and after they retrofitted it with EFIS they sold it, so out of the four they purchased from SAS only three will remain with ME. Can't wait to see the 17's!!!

Hey, I just want to tell you that on Monday (5/13/02) I saw N814ME take off it was in fact in the new colors if anyone cares. Also I could tell that that plane from SAS was badly corroded, as in the winter it sat right by Layton Ave. and it didn't look to good at all. But that is good that the beechcraft will be gone in acouple of years, I have a question are there going to be jetways made were all the Skyways park, because I think that the ERJ's need a jetway if I am wrong im am sorry. Also I don't get why won't Midwest buy any MD-90's that would be a nice addition.
Also one last question for the people that were at MKE on the 12th of May last Sunday, why did the NY Knicks and Rangers plane come in since the NY Mets or any NY team wasn't playing anyone.
