Taiwan's FAT Wants To Fly HKG

A report from Taiwan today unveiled that Far Eastern Air Transport (FAT) has expressed its interest to fly Taiwan-Hong Kong.

FAT is eyeing small role on this route. The reason why it wants to fly HKG is because direct link to China seems a far way off.

Currently, Taiwan's EVA and China Airlines, as well as HK's Cathay Pacific and Dragonair are flying between Taiwan and Hong Kong.

That would be great, I don't need any of the aircraft but it would be nice to see them in Hong Kong.

The would fly out of TPE, right? But isen't the airline based at TSA?

Is it true that they already fly into GUM? Where do they fly outside of Taiwan (ROC)?

If a new pact is reached between Hong Kong & Taiwan, would FAT be able to start HKG services? Because the current negotiations involve allowing the smaller airlines Dragonair & Eva Air to increase the frequency of their flights, and giving Dragonair the lucrative HKG-TPE route. I assume that the smaller airlines include not only KA & BR, but also EF?

FAT currently fly Palau, Subic Bay, Cebu, Phuket and some international charter flights.

It's expected to fly Seoul as charter flights this month.
