Just received the news that Eurofly is resuming Milan-Colombo service with a 767. The first flight will be on Wednesday 15 May and will return to Milan via Male.
Eurofly suspended it's flights last year after the insurance levy hike.

Does anybody know when Eurofly will receive its two A330?
If I am correct they are former Air Afrique examples powered by PW engines.
Moreover, is Alitalia still intentioned to sell its charter division?
I heard that the possible purchaser is Volare Group and they are also operating A330 (but with GE engines) as well as A320s.

Yes, AZ still wants to sell its charter division, possible buyers are Volare Group, Rusconi Editorial Group and some international charter company. AZ has already sold the Sigma Group and is going to sell the ItaliaTour tour operator.
For the engine: it would be a big issue? I mean, do they do by themself the manteinance or is assigned to external company?

No, I don't think the engines will be an issue as all of those aircrafts are leased.
If we consider that TAM has its A330 with all three different engines available for this model....(RR Trent700, GE CF6 and PW4000)....

Ciao

Hi!

I read on JP4 magazine that the possible purchaser of Eurofly are Volare Group, Lauda Air but it seems the first one to have a real interest.

Speaking of engine i know that Eurofly will have PW engine (in my opinion the best for A330).

Eurofly will receive the first A330 at the end of July.

Yes, both Air Europe and Lauda Air Italia fly to Colombo.
Lauda has also the rights to fly scheduled.

Wouldn't that be too crowded route. Just imagine if UL had two A330 flights as well. Does anybody know the load factors and type of travellers on this route?

All these carriers, Eurofly, Air Europe and Lauda Air Italia, used to fly the MXP-CBO route one weekly as part of the MXP-Male route.
These airlines are mainly charter operator and even if Eurofly and Lauda have the rights to fly scheduled this route is used mainly by tourist.
Tour operator use to sell one week tour follow by one week of sun in Maldives.
