I was watching the news today and they were talking about a girl who came from Africa on a flight via Frankfurt and they showed a Lufthansa 747-200 landing. I knew the kid really flew on LH because the shots of her coming to her new family showed a Korean Air sign in the background and I know that Korean Air and Lufthansa use the same DFW terminal. Was there really an LH 742 at DFW today, or was it an old tape as I know that LH used to fly 747s to DFW. Also, I think it was a tape because I saw a Lufthansa A340 flying unusually low over Dallas.
Are my suspicions correct that Lufthansa did fly a 742 to DFW today? Perhaps somebody at Lufthansa could tell me.
Give me a break, I created this username when I was a kid...

LH did recall several B742 (2 I think and one spare), but they are all being refitted with up-to-date cabins. They will not be operational until at least next month I am told, and they should operate FRA-YYZ, and maybe another route I dont know (JFK comes to my mind)

At this point the 742 will only fly FRA-YVR. They will start service on June 1st. Two of them have been flown from MZJ (D-ABYX and D-ABZE).
I do not know anything about other destinations or more planes being put back into service but there are a few more of them parked in MZJ so it could be possible.
I think starting with the summer schedule '95 LH switched the DFW flight to the A340. At that time my sister worked to DFW a few times and she said that loads would have always justified the 747. I myself flew DFW-FRA on the A340 in 1995 and the plane was packed.

in ´93, i was on a LH 747-200 flying FRA-DFW-IAH.
this flight was packed and to the best of my knowledge that was no coincidence, and obviously still not in ´95.
however, since then LH has splitted the FRA-DFW-IAH and serves both destinations daily nonstop from FRA.
i don´t know how figures are like nowadays, but if both destinations would justify larger capacity, they would receive it.
If only pure sweetness was offered, why's this bitter taste left in my mouth.
