Aeromar airlines, the Dominican carrier, will lease a 767-300 from Air Atlanta this fall for use on the MIA-SDQ and JFK-SDQ routes starting this summer, both daily. The aircraft will allow Aeromar to copete more effectively with AA and other carriers and also bring a business class service.
From JFK, Aeromar's daily service to Santo Domingo competes with American's four time daily service.
From MIA, Aeromar's daily service to Santo Domingo competes with American's 5x daily service, Mexicana de Aviacion's daily service (in codeshare with United), and Aero Continente Dominicana's new 4x weekly service, which starts 01Jul02.

Out of San Juan they are cheaper than AA (but Aero SantoDomingo is the cheapest of them all).
Im sure out of MIA and JFK they are significantly cheaper than AA. Aeromar is already recognized by the Dominican community in New York and Miami and it's their national airline so they definitely like to support it.
