In order to obtain the atpl and work in an airliner do i need to have 20X20 vision ? (without glasses) ??

Nope, a class A medical certificate does not require 20x20 vision. Search the airliners.net archives and you will find many pictures of pilots wearing glasses. Basically all the class A does is show you are not likely to suffer a heart attack or similar life threatening incident.

Im sure the next post will give more details of a class A medical certificate, cause i myself would love to know if i qualify for one (i wear contacts)

I have a CAA class one. Basically like you said you just have to show that you don't have any life threatening illness. They go through blood test, ECG and a horrible test to see if you are prone to epilepse (probably wrong spelling I know) where they flash lights at you for 20 mins.

With regard to the glasses situation, it is perfectly alright for someone to wear glasses, its just a limitation of the medical that you wear glases and have a spare pair with you when you fly. I have to wear glasses when I fly.
