Trying to find a connection on ITN's website from JFK to SEA I found a flight with EVA AIR's 747-400.
I was pretty amazed to find a non-US carrier offering a US flight. Strangely though I couldn't get the price of that connection. It made me wonder if actually any non-US carrier is allowed to sell tickets for US-flights.
Something I noticed only in Europe (an example is Air Namibias 747 service between FRA and LHR).
Are there any other US routes offered by non US-carriers? If not, why not? Can US airlines sell tickets for their European connection flights?

That flight is part of the EWR-SEA-TPE flight. They do not have traffic rights between EWR-SEA. The only exception is when you're flying EWR to TPE and makes a stopover in SEA.
The next best thing is Cathay Pacific's JFK to YVR flight. You CAN buy a ticket on it. Just drive from YVR to SEA.

Non-US airlines cannot sell tickets on these segments. Among them are:
SAA FLL-ATL (currently suspended, but returning soon)
El Al ORD-JFK, MIA-JFK, MIA-EWR
EVA Air SEA-EWR
Qantas LAX-JFK
British Airways IAH-IAD, CLT-BWI
JAL LAS-LAX
Ethiopian IAD-EWR

Thanks for the information. I will try and book the JFK-YVR flight.
Too bad there are not more "interesting" domestic flights! I guess I would try Ethopians 767 between IAD and EWR!
