Anyone know why this bird is being withdrawn from the BA. fleet she can't be more than 8 years old!

No use for it with all the capacity reductions.. they will withdraw some 744s soon i expect.

G-ZZZD (the aircraft pictured) is one of the GE non-ER models, and is typically used on Mid-Eastern routes, BA would like to have a fleet of ERs only.. and maybe RR engines only... when they can.. we will see about that one though.

One other, ZZZE, is also at Cardiff being decomissioned beofre being returned to Boeing. A 744 (BNLB) is alo in storage there but will be brought back into service when required, there are no plans to sell it at present.

BA is to "retire/sell" their non-er versions of the 777's. I believe their reg numbers are G-ZZZA, B, C, D and G-ZZZE

I think ZB came first and intially did LHR-CDG runs
