I am going to fly USairways in few days out of national, i have a paper ticket. and i already have my seats assigned. my friend can drop me 2 hours prior to departure time, and i was wondering, if i can check in two hours before the departure time at the gate. Is that possible? or do i have to go to the check in desk?

US Airways typically doesn't start check-in at the gate until 1 hr before departure time. But, if you have assigned seats already, it wouldn't hurt to not check in until then, unless you're trying to change your seats.

You can stop at the ticket counter anytime to obtain a BP or if you had an E-Ticket, you could check in with the self service Kiosk.
