I'm wondering why Rich Int'l was there, or who it was operating for. Also, why are there all those cars next to it. Was there a parking lot there at this time? Any info would help...thanks Richard!  Smile

I'd love to help you out, but that picture you told us to check-out must be hiding.  Smile

Oh and yes there was a parking lot there. I believe it was an employee lot.

And if any one cares my website, Golden Gate Airliners, is back online and has been completely updated with post 9/11 spotting and photography locations.

SJC Guy->...........As a side note to Ricardo's correct answers, when they started to build the new terminal "A", there was a public parking lot for quite some time, excellent photos/video were available to us back then.., then they changed it to an 'employee' lot.....musta saw Ricardo-Mark-n-Mike D. and me out there occasionally having too much fun taking photos. Mark Durbin also got quite a few VARIG- DC-10-30 shots during the Copa Mundial '94-when Brazil was praticing in Los Gatos- before there qualifier game at Stanford Univ. They parked the -30 right about where the Rich Intl is parked.

You weren't the guy who called Airport Police in on me taking photos back in December 1995 when I was atop the parking garage waiting for the wife to arrive one night, were you....?  Wink/being sarcastic

Do you have photos on A.net...?

How often are you guys out at SJC? I'd like to meet you guys, I use to work with Mike Durbin, but he transfered to SMF and is now a ramp supervisor. Let me know if you guys need to get on the ramp for some pictures anytime...we have escort priveleges that really didn't deminish post 9/11.

Does anyone know where AAEagle flies ERJs to out of SJC? I was picking up my dad late last night from a flight from JFK and I was surprised to see one parked at gate A-16B. I take it these go down to BUR, SMF, etc? Anyone know?

The Eagle flights out of SJC only go to PHX. They have never rebuilt the Eagle operation at SJC beyond those 4 flights.

I get out to SJC sometimes, 3 to 4 times a week and sometimes never! Very unpredictable. Mike's brother Mark works down at ACM. SJCguy e-mail me and we can figure out a time to meet up.

,,,,,,I don't go out that much anymore since 9/11....occasionally, but I used to utilize a ladder and pick-up bed and videotape for hours on end,,,I had the Cops well trained at what I was doing,,,tho' I did have several run in's with them until they got a clue, then they left me alone. Just to "F" with them, I'd show up everyday for weeks on end before work, and weekends, and stay there for hours,,,,,,,,,,Now I won't even try it.....I've been shooting at SJC since 1967....

I never saw Ricardo in all those years....I met M & M at our Airliner collectible shows in SFO and then met Ricardo through M & M....Then Ben Wang was on 30L curve one day and somehow we met up again,...now he is shooting like I used to do when I was his age....there was no A.net back then and I used to think I was the only one who shot airliner photos.........HA...!!!

E-mail Ricardo, he'll connect the dots......we'll see you around eventually...
