I have been at MAN most of today and I must just say that the delays are getting sillier and sillier.

Major Delays today

US Airways A330-323 N676UW (6.5hrs late)
Delta MD-11 N814DE (7 hrs late)
Air Jamaica A340-343 6Y-JMP (OK, only an hour late in but it was 3hrs late out)

It was interesting because the US Airways took longer to turn around (about an hour) and the Delta only 40 mins. There were lots of British airways delays as well most flights were 30-40 mins late. Any reasons why they were late or any experiences of long delays

The depatures from MAN can be put down to a crap baggage handling system! The transatlantic arrivals may be down to weather conditions in the US/Jamaica or over the Atlantic - probably the former.

Not all bad news though....the Transjet delys are getting smaller as the SWL 721 from Rhodes which was due in a 2 am tomorrow morning is only 4 hours late. Did I say only? One day, they'll get to be on time, don't know when though  Laugh out loud

I just had a look at Ceefax to check for myself and it's TRUE! SWL721, is ontime, TransJet classing an on-time arrival as one occuring same day as scheduled.

On the subject of delays, can anyone shed any light on the delay of AMM470D from Skiathos, scheduled to land tonight 2220, due tommorrow 2030. Some problem this end or, more likely, has the aircraft decided to go tech in Skiathos? Can't think of many worse places for an AOG....

Regards

I don't know whether to trust Ceefax as yesterday it showed the BA 2914 as being due in today at 21.30....just as I heard it call Tower  Wow!  Nuts

Where do they get the information from? Surely not the MAN website?

David, pondering the time-space vacuum that seems to exist in these parts.

bmi seem to be suffering from Transjetitis as their flight to MAN from Faro due at 14.50 today is now comming in tomorrow at 09.00! The Transjet flight from Thessalonika is running 5 hours late!

Yes, but I think Transjet flights that depart "on-time" are within 3 hours of the scheduled time  Big grin

As little as 3 hours? I thought it's 24 hours! When the puctuality statistics for May and June are released (should be in August for May and September for June), I've no doubt that they will comfortably be the least punctual airline. Unfortunately, one thinks they will make MAN the airport with the most delays  Sad
