I was on the AA 757 that hit the Pentagon in December of 2000. N644AA. Flew ORD-EGE (Vail, CO). We were stuck on the ground in ORD for 4 hours because the APU crapped out and wouldn't provide enough air for engine start. It then took 4 hours to argue whether EGE had a GPU suitable for a 757, which they did after all.

Delta painted UA's 6212 back in 1995......It was an interesting aircraft since it had 8mm tape players in the first class seats and a freon equipment cooling system. I also flew on that same aircraft LAX-JFK later that year.
This plane is built to withstand anything... except a bad pilot.

I've never ridden on any of the AA ships invloved, but in the cabin service office at JFK there is a large board that tracks upholstery changes and the like on the aircraft ,and it is sad to see the ship numbers(587's included) crossed out on that board.
I've worked 334's sister ships (332 and 335) on a regular basis though.
Yes, I actually *do* work for an airline, how about you?

I was on N591UA on tuesday september 4, 2001 from lax-iad. This was the exact week to the day that the plane crashed. it was very erry.....i could not get myself to get back onto a 757 until november.....until that date i only flew the 777, 747, and the airbus aircraft. and then in december i was in chicago and my flight for los angeles was parked next to n592ua. very weird.
but ya after september 11th i just pictured the crew up in first class. the lavatories and the cockpit....i can remember using the lavatory right before landing with the co pilot talking to the flight attendants

I flew UAL ship 5491 or N591UA on August 8th, and visited it again at the maintence base a few weeks later. What was ironic is that when I saw it at the MOC, it was parked facing ship 6212...the south tower plane. Very erry.
I can relate to what aspen1 said about seeing what was going on.
