Pan Am has announced that they will start services to Puerto Plata, Punta Cana and Santiago in the Dominican Republic ex Newark on June 28th. Flights will be operated by B727-200.

Portsmouth-Newark services will start the same day.

Clipper Connection will start Bedford-Newark flights the same day.

Anything about their fleet plans? How many of the UA B722 will be used for spares, how many will be taken into the fleet? And what about Boston-Maine Airways? Are they getting additional J31?

Regards
Flying-Tiger

I am pretty confident that it will be via Newark.

One thing I noticed that is bizzare is that according to the press release, the mainline and BMA nonstop PSM-EWR flights are only about 15 minutes apart.

According to the website the Dominican Republic flight (#300 I think) from PSM does indeed stop at EWR. The closeness of the PSM EWR flights may reflect a desire to serve the business traveller, but might also relate to the availability of slots at some of the airports.

According to their website, Portsmouth to Punta Cana DR is a nonstop:

PN330 PSM-PUJ 0600-1000
PN341 PUJ-PSM 1945-2315

However Portsmouth to Santiago DR and Puerto Plata DR include stops at Newark.

I wonder how long the Portsmouth-Punta Cana flight will last.
Yes Punta Cana is a very popular vacation destination but is there a market from Portsmouth .
