Jetsgo is trying to speed up delivery of the 4th MD-83. Looks like demand for the product is pretty high. ML said today that a lot of Vancouvers are booked up fully...Hope its all true...

Good for them!
I just hope that its pilots will be getting their money's worth. 60 000$ out of their pockets for their training? Ouch! It's almost like going to Vegas and laying it all out on the table. I like the nice ads they have running around on billboards. Too bad the one on Dixon Rd. is hidden by 3 trees .

Good for them! They are really advertising a lot and it's catching the attention of all Canadians. I saw the Happy Face fly over my house yesterday afternoon. It catches your attention so easily, with the florescent green and blue colours, and of course, the FACE. I think it's Canada's Western Pacific, but instead of advertising other companies, it advertises itself. Well, that's what all airlines do, but Jetsgo does it so well!

If jetsgo really takes off I think you may see montreal put on hold by WJ, unless they can really undercut SG, something that SG says can not be done. By the same token I think it would take a lot of money for SG to go right into WJ's bigest airport so I doubt you will see them in YYC soon...but you never know..

There's no doubt that JetsGo is putting their name out there in a big way with their multi-media ad campaign and all the press releases. Still, I think the credit should go to a marketing team that's earning their stripes more than a sudden flood of demand for tickets. Many of the numbers they state in the press releases are vague at best and open to skeptical interpretation. The proof will be in the head counts when they actually start flying. If it's as good as it sounds, their crews should get a huge raise within 90 days of startup.
P.S. Their fast tracking through the AOC approval process is an amazing example of using your political connections. Like him or not (for me, it's NOT), you've got to hand it to Mr. Leblanc. He's really stirring the pot this time.

I'm not sure why everyone is so surprised...this is the Southwest effect in Canada. We've seen it somewhat in the past, but the buzz around this airline is exciting.
Cessnapimp, you've come out of hibernation! You shouldn't be so supportive of your competition...otherwise the big bad green tails will come knocking!

WestJet's entry into Montreal will, without a doubt, be delayed, maybe even by a year or two because of the arrival of Jetsgo and CanJet. If you ask me, WestJet should have entered before all these new airlines did/will, now it's too late, but I don't mind. Jetsgo seems to be the new thing that everyone's talkin' about these days so I couldn't care less.
Take your time WestJet, Montreal doesn't need you anymore, 'cause we got JETSGO!!!

Cpt' Underpants, there was not fast tracking when it came to the AOC, they applied for it way back in December, and in fact ran into some trouble with it just before it was to be approved...If you want to see political connections then wait till Ken Rowe comes around, if he can get his airline off the ground by the 20th that will be the fastes AOC approval ever...
