How To Get On A CO 777 From SJC-IAH?

Next week, I'll be taking Continental to IAH to attend the Airliners International convention. I'm wondering, leaving from SJC, how I could get on a 777 on at least one segment...perhaps coming home taking one out of IAH and then catching a SW flight back to SJC? Any options or opinions? Does CO even operate the 777 inter-US?

EWR-IAH is the only 777 domestic sector for CO.

On and off CO has operated the 777 LAX-IAH, but more 'off' than 'on'. Recently I believe the 767-400 has been a permanent fixture on that run, if you can settle for that, it'll be something different from the 737s inhabiting SJC.

CF-CPI:

There are no widebodies on the IAH-LAX run according to the latest CO schedule. There is the 757-300 if you want something different.

SJCguy:

The only route that CO offers widebodies on is IAH-EWR. You could maybe backtrack to EWR and then catch a flight from EWR-SJC, but you'll have to contact a travel agent or CO reservations to see if that routing would be allowed.

With CO's IAH-EWR schedule it would be almost impossible to get on the 777 either way without a night's stayover in Newark. The 777 schedule between IAH-EWR or EWR-IAH does not seem to work with the non-stops to SJC for connections. Good luck.

I had been waiting 2 years for the AI Convention to reach IAH, my Hometown. This year, my last day of finals/state exams is June 24. Life isn't fair, is it?

Just be sure to take advantage of all the tours and cool stuff, and of course everything Space City USA has to offer!

According to OAG CO is not flying the 764 on LAX-IAH on the 19th or IAH-LAX on the 22nd. You could get on the 753 or 739 though.

SJCguy:

Please refer to my earlier post. There are NO Continental widebodies (764 included) currently on the IAH-LAX route. Refer to NHFL9's post for flights between IAH-LAX.

I was looking at CO's electronic timetable (which you can download for yourself at http://www.continental.com/dash/build_dash.asp?tis_02_06 and for June 19th you can get a flight on a 764 via EWR by doing the following:

CO 165
SJC to EWR
lv: 7:45am ar: 4:10pm
737-700

connecting to:

CO 63
EWR to IAH
lv 4:55pm ar: 7:53pm
767-400

return on June 22:

CO 40
IAH to EWR
lv: 10:50am ar: 3:30pm
767-400

connecting to:

CO 464
EWR to SJC
lv: 6:05pm ar: 9:31pm
737-700
