Seriously? I don't know if this is serious or a joke after reading the very active, entertaining and ongoing thread below about whether NZ should operate the 744 AKL-HKG-LHR.

HAHA!!!
Yes, cos the A380 is available right now. I bet NZ will have a press release tomorrow saying something to the effect of NZ will launch AKL-HKG-LHR with A380-800 aircraft starting on June 15 2002.....
Morgan Stanley says that there will be a market and that 80% loads will occur right away. Goldman Sachs agree with MSDW.
There are rumours at the Hong Kong office of Air New Zealand that a surprise delivery of A380's will occur at AKL tomorrow.

I don't think this thread is a good idea - next week we will hear from a certain person that he has heard a rumour from very credible sources that Air NZ will be flying A380s from AKL to LHR, through HKG.

Yes I do think that it would be a wonderful idea.
It will create more competition along the route and ANZ would have an advantage of 15% lower seat costs while offering more amenities.

"I heard" that the start date for the new A380 AKL-HKG-AKL will be
2 weeks later than Coachman stated, "I heard" that SQ, EK and CX
will eat their hearts out when this route starts, "I heard" that the
A380 will have no business or economy, it will be all one class using
sleeper beds and 1 F/A for every 10 pax, "I heard" that the airline
world will be shocked when they see what clever economic airline
managers NZ has by offering all this for only NZ$325 return.

NZ767,
The A380 is a stealth aircraft, didn't you know that??? People won't know.
It's so round!
Actually Wirraway is right, it's actually starting July 1...it needs a bit more time to be finally prepared for the inaugural service. I must have misheard the rumour at the office, or misread the internal email.

Cathay250,
Well, I heard that Dragonair might get up to 50 A 380Ds in the future..... That doesn't surprise me at all since China is growing so quickly. There are reports saying that China will become the Second largest Aviation Market in the next 20-30 years.
AKL-HKG-LHR will probably start service within a year or two. In fact, they ONCE planned to start service on 28/10/2001.

United Airline,
Sometimes you should have some COMMON sense before you post some stuff. Not trying to be rude, but i am really sick of you posting something that everyone knows it's only your imagination. If you wanna tell me you got this from a staff working in KA or something CONFIDENTIAL please tell me so that i could clarify.

DO A SEARCH FOR CHRIST SAKE.
It was mentioned about a year ago! Perhaps you are NEW.
But anyway, this will NOT happen until 10-20 years later.
