Hey for the people that work at the Midwest Express hanger i have some questions.
1) Is N80ME getting a new rudder because there is no rudder on the tail?
2) What planes(registration) are in the hanger right now i saw 3 planes in i think but i can't see there registration?
3) Is N800ME the only plane in the old colors right now i was at MKE today and i saw him arrive today?

Hey Joey. Question, isn't N800ME a DC-9-14 that small kind of DC-9? Odd enough, I saw it at MSP before!

Yep your rite John it is a DC9-10 I saw it land today at MKE in the old colors still. I wonder how many are still in the old colors and what was a Midwest Express DC9-10 doin in MSP maybe a replacement for Skyway.

Aircraft N80ME is going to get scrapped like N400ME did earlier this year. N813ME, N701ME and N501ME are in the hanger I do believe but could be wrong haven't worked at the hanger since last week Wednesday. And N800ME is the last plane with the old paint scheme that I have seen but I thought there was one more in the old paint scheme. Will double check.
Also, this Tuesday at 9:00am at the hanger there is supposed to be a huge announcement. There is going to be over 500 people in attendance and stock holders and the media will be there too. Some rumours I have heard is were going to change our name from Midwest Express Airlines to just Midwest Airlines, Tim Hokesama is going to retire or we might merge with another airline. Just rumours no facts yet but that is what I heard from people in the hanger.

The Antonov-AN124 was here delivering parts to the 124th refueling wing. Not sure what they had on board, but watching it take off was something of a feat...I'm sure a few drivers on Howell had quite a scare!

WOW I wonder if they do who they would merge with kinda intresting. Well I am glad I got pics yesterday of N80ME if its going to be scrapped. Yea I was on 6th street from 2-7 yesterday very nice day for it too. I saw the AN-124 land on Thursday came over Latyon Ave. wow what a sight to see. So if Midwest Express will change to Midwest Airlines (if) will they change there whole fleet from Express on it to Airlines or might we see a new paint scheme.
I was also wondering is there anymore planes scheduled to come Midwest Express either on lease or they bought them and they have to paint it. I think the last one they got was N814ME.

Since I'm typically way off base with my speculations - I'll try again.
If there is a big press conference with several hundred people attending, it must be pretty big news - so what would it be?
Who would they merge with? I have no ideas.
Major route expansion? probably not since it apparently plans to retire DC-9s with new 717 - so a wash there.

I saw N80ME at the hangar on Friday when I went to check out the AN-124. I've heard the all-white MD-80 which used to be parked next to the general aviation terminal is to be scrapped as well, if not already in the process. Aparently, this aircraft was acquired from SAS, but is not in very good shape, so YX decided to use it for spares.
I know someone who works for YX as a ramp agent; he told me they are getting rid of their DC-9-10s and -30s in preparation for their fleet renewal, beginning next year. YX will be taking delivery of a new Boeing 717 every month for a year and a half.
Did anyone in Milwaukee see the AN-124 take off Saturday morning? What an amazing site...check out my post about that: http://www.airliners.net/discussions/general_aviation/read.main/843468/6/

I was wondering if YX is getting rid of there DC9-10's and 30's and getting 717's to replace it. What is YX going to do with there MD80's are they going to buy more or are they just happy with what they have now I would like to see some new routes from YX such as (Seattle, Portland, San Diego, New Orleans from MKE, Nashville, Memphis, Charlotte) any others that you can think of, and anyone know when the first 717 will be delievered and will it be delivered to MKE or not.
Out of the question but when is Skyway going to get there first ERJ.

Well first off it isn't the 124th Air refuelling Wing it is the 128th Air refuelling Wing which flies KC-135's.
N80ME is going to be scrapped no doubt about it. I work at the hanger and they don't want to spend the money on N80ME for a "C" check and two or three years later we don't have N80ME.
If we do change our name or not I also heard that we might have a new paint scheme when we get our B717-200's. But like I said it is all rumours and hopefully will find out tomorrow.
N813ME which is the all white airplane that used to be parked near Layton Ave. isn't going to be scrapped. Where do people get there info from? N813ME is in the hanger and there going to a modification and supposed to be in service next spring. We were supposed to receive one more MD-80 from SAS but that will never happen and the tail number was going to be N811ME.
It's true that we are going to get rid of our DC9-10's and 30's when we receive the B717-200's. Were going to receive one B717-200 every month starting in February of next year. By 2005, all of our DC9-10's and 30's will be retired from Midwest Express Airlines.
At this time we are not going to buy anymore MD-80's but I think down the road we might buy some more but not in the near future. Would like to see more cities added but don't have the aircraft to expand right now but hopefully will find out some info tomorrow at the hanger. Like I heard it is supposed to be a huge announcement tomorrow at 9am. Will keep you updated. The B717-200's are going to be delivered to MKE by the way. Where else would they be delivered too?
The last thing I heard is that Skyway is going to receive there first EJ-140 in 2004 but don't now what month.
