I know that Lufthansa has leased out a couple of A319/320 and B737 in the recent months, I´m able to track down
2 B737-300 for Balkan
1 B737-300 for Channel Express (?)
2 B737-300 for Indonesia Airlines

Yip, most of Contactair´s F50s are leased from Lufthansa, these are the former Lufthansa CityLine birds. But as far as I know Contact has started to purchase them from Lufthansa´s leasing arm, at least I´ve once seen reports saying this.

There was a B737 in Balkan c/s behind the LH hanger at FRA last Wedenesday, unfortunately I was unable to spot the aircraft's reg. Does anyone know wether that aircraft is due to join the Balkan fleet as well? Or has that bird already been returned to LH?

Airsicknessbag: The two LH A319 (not 32S) that were on lease to AirMalta last Summer were returned on 02 November. The units in question were D-AILF/N. I beleive both aircraft have since, or at least until some weeks ago, been in storage at HAM.
A bit of topic: LH has recently formed a Lufthansa Teknik base in Malta. They are using a hangar originally built and used by the RAF 203 Nimrod Squadron in the 70's and lately used for major maintenance by AirMalta. AirMalta has long been sending it's 737's and 320's to Dublin and Stansted for C and D checks.

Oh, I meant 32S as in 320 Series - exactly because I wasn´t sure whether the type involved was 319 or 320.
LH also come down to MLA for training, don´t they? Someone told me about 737s doing touch and go s frequently. Stable weather and low traffic are the reasons, I presume.

Rizzibird,
The delivery of Balkan's 733s was delayed twice due to re-registration (according to one of the local newspapers). I don't know if the first has arrived in Sofia yet. The lease is for 1+ year. Did you notice in which scheme was the A/C painted? The latest one, or the one from the late 80s/ early 90s?

BTW, anything new about LH´s 6 A340-200? SAA keeps on stating that they will lease them and might keep them as pathfinders for additional Europe-routes. Now that they have signed the firm order for the Airbus-contract they need to do something or it doesn´t make any sense for them anylonger.

Balkans former LH B737 had the old livery, but without the cheatline. I found two pictures of the airplane I was talking about, apparantly it has just been re-registered.
