Tom Horton, the executive long considered to be the heir apparent to Don Carty, has announced that he will be leaving his positions as Sr. Vice President - Finance and Chief Financial Officer at American Airlines for the same positions at AT&T. The departure of Horton was expected following the somewhat surprise appointment of Gerard Arpey to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer in April.

Jeff Campbell, currently VP-Europe, will succeed Horton in both positions.
