Which airline offers the best Economy Class? I mean the seats with the greatest pitch, recline, and width. I know of only 2 airlines: ANA (Premium Economy Class) and Eva Airways (Economy Deluxe Class). Which is better - ANA or Eva Airways? Thanks.

Economy Plusâ„¢. Economy Plus offers 34" to 36" of pitch. It blows AA's MRTC out of the water, the only problem is that it isnt avlible for everyone. United does have nice service in economy, even with the meal reductions.

Malaysia Airlines Economy 34"
Garuda Indonesia Premium Economy 40"
I dont understand what the big deal is with United's "Economy Plus"
such a big premium to pay (full Y fare) for only 2" more. Say flying from Australia to the US, Air New Zealand offers 34" in standard economy, while United's Economy Plus is 36". Also why is it that the seat pitch is more in US domestic flights (United) than International ones i.e the shorter distance you fly the more space you get, fly on a long international route and get less legroom!!Makes no sense to me anyway....

I believe AA has one of the best Economy class seating/cabins for their long-hauls, to and from Asia. However, the new ANA Premium Economy Class seats look very promising:
- 20% wider
- 20% increase in pitch & legroom
- 3 rows of 8 seats aboard 777s & 747s
- leg-rest
- head-rest
- front-table
- universal PC power port
All available for pax paying full fare, AMC Diamond Members and Platinum.
Economy class in JAL, NW and DL are out of the question in my opinion.

Admiral ackbar: good question. I can't find the answer to your question anywhere on the ANA site. I would imagine they accept *Gold members as well. Not sure.

EVA's Economy Deluxe is a good product, but it's a bit misleading in that it's not their Y class, and isn't priced like Y. It's 38" 2-4-2 (narrowing towards the nose) with what would be in the US considered First/Business seats with standard Y service (which is excellent on EVA).
But it's not fair to compare less expensive Y service to it.

Correction (Airbus Lover)
My flag-carrier(s) would be British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and bmi - and for over 20 years flew BA loyally until by chance (with BA's pull-out from KUL) stepped on-board an MAS flight... never looked back since (and since my European carrier is KLM - this has become all the better as all my flights with MAS now also earn me KLM Flying Dutchman points!).
