My cousin is bugging me to find out what if any seats on his United flight from ORD to AMS will have laptop powerports in coach.

He is flying flight 966 on Monday, and it's a 767-300ER.

I checked the United Seatmaps and came up short. What seats if any on the UA 763ER have laptop powerports?

Thanks in advance!!

United does not have any coach seats on any airplane equipped with Empower branded power ports or DC adapter plugs. Sorry.

Empower is only found in domestic first class seats of select A320 and 757 aircraft, as well as all of those in domestic 767-300 and 777 equipment. It is also found in Business and First on 3-class 767-300s, 777s, and 747-400s. Note that there is no empower on A319s, don't ask me why.

AFAIK, AA is the only airline to have this in Coach on most of its airplanes, with US Airways having it in their Airbuses only.

Unfortunately, United's Economy cabins fleetwide have not been fitted with laptop power.

I'm not up-to-date on which of our aircraft have --working-- laptop power ports in First and Business, but I do believe our international B767-300 MZs have working systems in these two classes. If your cousin is indeed sitting in Economy, he'll have to bring the extra battery packs. I wish that weren't the case, though....

I hope he has a good trip with us!

Why would you want to use a laptop during flight?
Employers will expect you to do some work on your business trip while your in flight.

All 767-300ER 3-Class are operative. Same with the 747s.

Of the 777s, all are operative except for the 28XX series (N216-N229UA) and, for some reason, 2508 (N208UA). This encompasses 16 aircraft out of 60.

Don't know why some 757s and A320s are not operative yet, and I don't understand why none of the A319s have them, given that a lot of them are newer than many A320s, and that they tend to do long stage lengths just like the A320. I can understand no need for them on the guppies, but the A319s??

FYI, on an unrelated -but fleet centric- note, Decor 5.6 is confirmed to be on several 757s... I flew on N592UA today, and she had it. Lovely!

And for those who think "who cares?!" about interiors, it is indeed a very important part of United's marketing strategy, as evaluating it is one of the most prominent questions on United's latest in-flight survey.
