LOT Polish Airlines subsidiary airline EUROLOT is going to replace it`s 5 ATR-300 by ATR-500 planes. The first of the new aircraft is expected to arrive to WAW in the end of July, the rest by the end of October.
All of the current operating Eurolot`s ATR-42 were manufactured in 1986-1988.

When I read your topic about the LOT ATR42-500s, I somehow *knew* that it will ex-Air Littoral aircraft. These ATRs were listed "for sale" for the last two years (on www.flightlease.com). Makes sense to me that LOT decided to take these aircraft, quite new and quite cheap. But they should spend some money in the cabin, the Air Littoral ATR42 cabin is aweful!

It's not only the uglyness of the interior. The Air Littoral seats are cheap and uncomfortable, compared to e.g. Eurowings ATR42-500, or Crossair Saab 2000. Passengers used to be really disappointed when they found out that their Crossair/Swissair flight was not operated by Saab 2000 but Air Littoral ATR instead. Of course, the uncomfortable seats were not the only problem, I was told that Air Littoral cabin crews were intentionally unfriendly when the flight had a LX or SR flight number, and captains did their best to delay the flight as much as possible... but anyway, the uncomfortable seats were another reason why LX/SR passengers didn't like the Air Littoral ATRs.
