Thai Airways Gets New Chairman

Thai Airways International - A Star Alliance Member - The Airline Network For Earth, has been appointed a new chairman by prime minister, Thaksin Shinawatra.

Thanong Bidaya, 54, a former banker and finance minister during the Asian Economic Crisis, will be the third chairman at TG in 13 months. Mr. Bidaya is going to reform the airline and raise a share sale deal which is worth US$400 million by reducing the government stake in TG from 93% to 70%.

Thai Airways International made a H1 profit of US$136 800 000.
